We are excited to invite you to be a part of Team BCPS by serving as a volunteer! Volunteers play a vital role in creating a positive and enriching experience for our students. Whether you can lend a hand before school, during lunch, or at other school-based events, we welcome your support and thank you for offering your time and expertise!

All potential volunteers must be at least 18 years old (21 years old to chaperone a field trip) and complete the volunteer application process, which includes training and application. Volunteers’ approval status expires on June 30, so the process needs to be completed each year beginning on July 1. Please follow the steps below to complete the volunteer process.

decorative 1 Step 1: Complete the BCPS Volunteer Orientation

Create or log into your Vector Solutions account to complete the BCPS Volunteer Orientation. The training is available in English and Spanish. Once the user has logged in, language selection is at the top right next to the profile picture. If you have completed training in the past but don't remember your login information, please email your school's volunteer coordinator for assistance in recovery.

Create an account

After you complete the training, the system will generate for you to print or save. You will need to submit a copy along with your application. a pdf or screenshot will work! We encourage you to save one for your records.

Complete the online volunteer application (Spanish version) and submit your training certificate via our Smartsheet platform. You will receive an email from Smartsheet to confirm your application submission and an additional email once the application has been approved. Check your spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox. After your application is approved, reach out to your school's volunteer coordinator to find a placement!


PLEASE NOTE:  Applications are processed by school-based volunteer coordinators. Please ensure that you submit your paperwork at least 10 school days prior to your desired volunteer start date or 30 school days before your school's field trip.

Community Partnership

The Retired Seniors Volunteer Initiative (RSVP) of Baltimore County has partnered with Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) to help our youngest learners through their first year in public school. This opportunity is available exclusively for citizens 55 years old and older. Interested senior citizens can contact RSVP at 410-887-3101 or visit them online at the Baltimore County Government website.
