Superintendent Dr. Rogers presented a $2.49 billion operating budget proposal for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 on January 13. The proposed budget preserves investments in system priority areas including academic achievement, safety and climate, and infrastructure, while prioritizing the recruitment and retention of the system’s more than 20,000 employee workforce through compensation enhancements.

The BCPS community is invited to nominate outstanding administrators for BCPS Principal of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year now through Sunday, January 18! Finalists will be announced in the coming months, and the winners will be named at the Champions for Children event on Wednesday, April 29.

BCPS Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB) applications are open from December 4, 2025 – January 23, 2026. Interested students can learn more by visiting the SMOB Selection website. Applicants must be current sophomores or juniors and will need to have a recommendation from their high school principal, in addition to other requirements. High school principals can nominate up to two students.
