February 10, 2025 Staff and Community Update: BCPS Virtual Inclement Weather Day Plan
On February 6, BCPS used its last inclement weather day for the school year. As previously shared, the state-approved Virtual Inclement Weather Plan outlines our system’s plan for repurposing inclement weather days as virtual school days once we use three (3) traditional inclement weather days.
Please note that weather forecasts indicate that winter storms will impact our region beginning tomorrow, February 11. In the event of additional systemwide school closures, BCPS will transition to virtual learning. To prepare for this transition, students and families are reminded of the following:
- Virtual learning on inclement weather days will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule for students. Schools have shared their 2-hour delay schedule with families. Please contact your child’s school if you have not received the 2-hour delay schedule.
- All students should take their BCPS-issued devices home starting today, Monday, February 10.
- Families that do not have internet access at home are encouraged to review this list of county government resources.
- BCPS will use Google Meet for virtual instruction and teachers have shared Google Meet codes directly with families. Please contact your child’s teacher if you do not have Google Meet codes for each class.
- Attendance will be taken on all virtual learning days.
