Graduating Senior:Bradley Allen

Bradley Allen
Dundalk High School and Sollers Point Technical High School
(Berkshire Elementary, Holabird Middle)

Tell us about a teacher, assignment, field trip, or extracurricular activity that had a significant impact on you during your years as a BCPS student?

During my time at Dundalk, one particular teacher had a significant impact on me. Kevin Tran, my cross country and track coach, taught me not only how to be a better athlete, but that if you work hard, your results will show. He pushed me to be the best that I can be and, in times of downfall, you can truly rise to be better than before. He cares for the wellbeing of his students and athletes. He truly upholds the values of teaching and coaching.

During your years as a BCPS student, what did you accomplish that you are most proud of?

During my years at Dundalk High School, I am proud of my many accomplishments. I served as president, vice president, and webmaster of Dundalk High’s Student Government Association.  As a member of the National Honor Society, I served as the club’s secretary. I am also a member of the National Junior Octagonal Optimist Club and the Principal’s Advisory Council. While maintaining a 3.51 GPA, I earned nine varsity letters in cross country and track and currently rank 12th in a class of 321. I am proud of being the recipient of the BCPS Ethics Award as it is humbling to know that I made a positive impact on teachers, administrators, peers, and my community.

What’s next for you? What are your college or employment plans immediately after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to attend either Penn State or Virginia Tech. I will be majoring in meteorology and atmospheric sciences and possibly minoring in geography.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see myself fully engaged in my career as a meteorologist. I also hope to excel in a bachelor’s degree, earn a masters’ degree, and take my career to the next level. And, of course, I hope to have fun while fulfilling life to its fullest.

“Bradley Allen embodies characteristics that complement what we value in our student body at Dundalk High School. Bradley shows the ability through his involvement with the Student Government to make decisions in good judgment based on fairness and honesty. Bradley also displays tolerance, understanding, acceptance, and compassion without bias to those he surrounds himself with both in the school and the community. Bradley approaches individual and group tasks with flexibility, excitement, appreciation and hope. He works to overcome negative perspectives and attitudes in order to better the school environment for himself and others. Bradley has established positive relationships with peers and staff alike. He works to his true potential and takes pride in his own personal accomplishments and holds true admiration for the work of others.”
