The Office of Budget and Reporting within the Department of Fiscal Services is primarily responsible for preparing, managing, and monitoring the operating and capital budgets for BCPS. The office prepares fiscal information for the superintendent, Board of Education, schools, offices, county and state fiscal authorities, and the public.
Services Provided:
- Manage development of the annual operating budget.
- Operating budget monitoring and expenditure projections for current and future fiscal years.
- Capital budget coordination, development, and implementation.
- Maintenance of the Performance Budgeting system.
- Coordinate requests for information from fiscal authorities, and provide timely and accurate responses.
- Submit budget appropriation transfers and budget supplements to the superintendent, Board of Education, and county fiscal authorities for their review and approval.
- Manage the year-end budget process.
- Calculate and distribute non salary allocations to schools.
- Train and assist schools and offices in budget formulation and management.
- Design, generate, and provide financial reports and analysis.
