Approval/Implementation

The new boundary will be effective for SY 2026-2027 (August 2026).

Purpose:

An Administrative Review Boundary Change Process has been proposed for schools in the Central Area of Baltimore County. This proposal affects eleven (11) schools in (4) locations within the Central Area. The proposed changes provide transportation efficiencies and realign boundaries to avoid confusion. 

Implementation:

The new boundary will be effective starting SY 2026-2027 (August 2026).

Administrative Review Process:

  • This study will be conducted under the revised BCPS Board Policy/Superintendent's Rule 1280
  • The Administrative Review Process is for school boundary changes that are limited in scope.  It is facilitated by the BCPS Office of Strategic Planning.
  • The process will provide opportunities for community engagement including:
    • An online Public Comment Form (the comment period is now closed)
    • A Public Information Session;
    • An Online Survey; and
    • A Board of Education hearing (virtual)

  • Take the online survey (February 11 - February 25, 2026)
  • Attend Board of Education meetings (March 24, 2026, and April 21, 2026) and the virtual public hearing (March 25, 2026)
