Golden Ring Middle students take up “Art for a Cause”

Golden Ring Middle School students are doing their part to help people with breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the art students got actively involved.

Mrs. Gibson, one of the art teachers at Golden Ring, created an art program called “Art for a Cause.” The program allows her students to use their artworks to make meaningful changes and awareness within their community.

Art for a Cause held its first art show fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. The event was a success! Many students, parents, and community members came out to support the worthy cause and purchase artworks. The art department so far has raised $450 for the Susan G. Komen organization.

Mrs. Gibson credits the success of the art show to the talented Golden Ring art students, Mr. Cook (the school’s other art teacher), and the support of the Golden Ring Middle School staff.

Mrs. Gibson’s classes also look forward to help many more causes within their community this year.
