Loch Raven Technical Academy sponsors Pink Day fundraiser

Friday, November 2, 2012 marked Loch Raven Technical Academy's celebration of Pink Day, a day dedicated to fostering student awareness and procuring monetary donations for those who have battled or are battling breast cancer.

On the day of the fundraiser, students, faculty members, and administrators dressed in pink, shared stories regarding cancer's impact on their lives and those of their loved ones, and made contributions to the Susan G. Koman Fund. Donations to the Fund from the one-day event totaled approximately $340.

Although October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Loch Raven Technical grade 6 mathematics teacher (and former Baltimore County Teacher of the Year) Robin August proposed the Day with her mother and a close friend, both of whom have struggled with the disease, in mind.
