Darryl L. Williams was appointed superintendent of schools for Baltimore County Public Schools on May 21, 2019, by the Board of Education.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Williams served as the associate superintendent of K-12 schools in eight clusters in Montgomery County Public Schools (Md.), where he supervised three directors of learning, achievement, and administration, nine instructional specialists of learning and achievement. Together they coached, supported and evaluated eight high school principals, two specialty school principals, 15 middle school principals, and 44 elementary school principals.
Dr. Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in math from Hampton University and a master of arts degree in educational administration from American University. He earned a doctorate in education from the University of Maryland, College Park.
He lives in Baltimore County with his wife and three children.
