BCPS Wellness Policy

The Board of Education of Baltimore County (Board) has updated the Wellness Policy and Rule 5470 in order to ensure that BCPS is committed to providing a school environment that promotes student health, well-being and ability to learn. The revised policy and rule are consistent with the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The Board of Education acknowledges that students need access to healthy foods and physical activity, health and counseling services and the support of the school, family and community to grow, learn, and thrive.

Triennial Assessment Report

The USDA Triennial Assessment is a review conducted every three years to evaluate how well a district’s wellness policies are being put into practice, particularly those related to nutrition, physical activity, and overall student health. It helps the Local Educational Agency (LEA) measure progress, ensure compliance with federal guidelines, and identify opportunities to better support students’ well-being.
