Pleasant Plains Elementary Capacity Relief Boundary Study

At its meeting on March 10, 2020, the Board of Education of Baltimore County approved new elementary school boundaries to relieve overcrowding at Pleasant Plains Elementary School. During this meeting, the Board accepted the boundary committee’s recommended option, effective for the 2020-2021 school year.

Schools affected by the boundary change include:

  • Hampton Elementary School
  • Pleasant Plains Elementary School

Boundary Change Implementation

Students whose homes are zoned to a new school as a result of the boundary change decision will move when the new boundaries are effective for the 2020-2021 school year.

Families with enrolled students will be notified in March 2020 regarding how the new boundaries will affect them.

Boundary Study Committee and Recommendation

A committee comprised of school representatives, parents, and community members met six times between September 12  and December 11, 2019. Meetings were open for the public to observe. A Public Information Session was held on October 30, 2019. An online survey regarding options under consideration by the committee ran between October 30 and November 13, 2019.
