Request For Official Transcript And/Or Official Duplicate Diplomas

An official transcript and official duplicate diploma are legal, sensitive documents that bear a stamp verifying the document is issued by Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS), a signature certifying the document's authenticity, and should be sealed upon receipt. Baltimore County Public Schools does not issue unofficial documents. Requests for transcripts and/or duplicate diplomas must be accompanied by payment. Currently, transcripts are $2 each and duplicate diplomas are $3 each. Payment should be in the form of a money order or standard business check made payable to Baltimore County Public Schools. Payment for multiple requests may be combined. Requests for GEDs should be directed to the Maryland GED State Board of Education at 410-767-0538.

To expedite the official diploma and transcript process please complete the Academic Verifications, Office Transcripts, & Official Duplicate Diplomas Form and follow the directions listed. Use only the request form provided in the link. If you do not have access to a computer, and wish to request document(s) by mail, the request must be clearly printed or typed, and contain all of the following information:

  • Individual's complete and full legal name (no abbreviations). Always circle the last legal name the student was listed under in BCPS if it differs from student's current name.
  • Date of birth.
  • Name of the last school attended and calendar year of graduation or year person last attended BCPS.
  • Complete return mailing address (include name of institution or business if it applies).
  • Signature (or signed release) of person named in document if 18 years of age or older. If person making the request is under the age of 18, the signature of a parent or guardian must be affixed.
  • Completed form and payment in the correct amount. Neither personal checks nor cash will be accepted. Payments may be combined for multiple requests. Requests must be mailed to:

Allow a minimum of 15 school days for the request to be processed and mailed back. For people wishing to obtain an official duplicate diploma and/or official transcript in person, no appointment is necessary. The office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on days schools are in session. With the exception of certain holidays, all schools and central offices are open 12 months out of the year. NOTE: If someone other than the former student is picking up document(s), the person must present a separate and signed written statement naming and authorizing said individual to receive the document(s). A photo ID of the individual obtaining the document(s) must be presented and a copy will be made of same.

Please also note that the Transcript Office is closed when schools are closed.
