Summer programs 2025 focuses primarily on helping BCPS students, of all levels, engage in enrichment and unfinished learning, with a focus on preparing them for the next grade level. 

Elementary and middle school programs will offer mathematics, literacy, cultural arts and co-curricular experiences. At the high school level, there will be a ride range of opportunities to earn high school credits in all subject areas required for graduation.

BCPS Summer Programs will be held Monday - Thursday from July 7 - July 31, 2025. Students will be on campus for 5 hours each with a 30 minute lunch. Bell schedules vary by site. Enrollment occurs at the school level and will be begin in May.

Extended Year Learning Program (EYLP) - Elementary School
The Elementary Extended Year Learning Program provides direct instruction to students in reading and mathematics direct support.  Students are identified by using multiple data points, such as attendance rate, MAP scores, and report grade grades. 

Extended Year Learning Program (EYLP) – Middle School
The Middle School EYLP will consist of Lavinia RISE literacy and mathematics instruction broken into two activities:

Literacy:
• Close Reading for Meaning
• Insight Humanities Book Studies

Mathematics:
• Math for Meaning Story Problems
• Math Routines 
Extended Year Learning Program (EYLP) – High School
The High School Extended Year Learning Program offers students the opportunity to work toward recovery or advancement of credit for graduation. Students participate in learning experiences including teacher-directed instruction and independent online work. 

 
Multilingual Achievement Instructional Team (formerly ESOL)
During this summer program, all English Language Development (ELD) teachers will be providing services to Multilingual Learners (MLs) via the co-teaching model at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Schools will be prioritizing support in both Literacy and Mathematics, based on the learning needs of students. ELD teachers will focus on teaching the academic language of the content area and differentiate their instruction, based on the language proficiency levels of their MLs. 

Extended School Year (ESY)
Identified students with disabilities receive ESY services as determined by the IEP (Individualized Education Program) team. ESY focuses on the maintenance of critical life skills as well as academic and functional goals/objectives identified on the IEP. Special education teachers and related service providers provide specialized instruction and services during ESY.
