Dear Team BCPS—
As forecasts are calling for a winter storm this weekend, we want to remind the Team BCPS community about our process for emergency notifications, school closings and delays as well as our Virtual Inclement Weather Day Plan for the 2025-2026 school year.

School Closures, Delayed Openings, and Early Dismissals
Information regarding potential impacts to school operations and activities will be shared as soon as possible and will be posted on the BCPS website and various social media platforms and emailed to all staff and families. 2025-2026 BCPS Inclement Weather Plan
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has given local school systems the option to repurpose inclement weather days as virtual school days. Our plan is to transition to virtual school days after three inclement weather closures. Families will be notified if BCPS will transition to virtual learning. Students should plan to bring devices, chargers, and other instructional materials home with them on Friday, January 23, in the event of extended closures. Elementary and middle schools will provide specific details on device distribution plans.
