Approval/Implementation

The new boundary will be effective for SY 2026-2027 (August 2026).

Purpose:

The purpose of this boundary study is to maximize the use of available space and balance enrollment among Chase, Oliver Beach, and Seneca elementary schools. 

Implementation:

Calendar:

Boundary Study Committee:

A committee of principals, staff, and parents of the study schools will work together to make a recommendation to the Board of Education for new boundaries.  The group is scheduled to meet up to six times between September and December, including hosting a public information session.

Participation is limited, and Committee Interest forms are now closed.  Those selected to serve on the committee will be notified by the end of August.

  • Take the online survey (October 22 - November 9, 2025).  The online survey is now closed.  Thanks to all who participated.  Results will be posted with Meeting 4 materials.
  • Attend Board of Education meetings (February 10, 2026, and March 10, 2026) and the hearing (February 25, 2026)

The Public Comment period is now closed.  Public comments were collected from September 4, 2025, through December 3, 2025. All public comments become official record and will be posted here periodically, including date and time of submission, first initial, last name, and commentary.  Please do not include any information which may compromise your data security (e.g., phone numbers, addresses, student personally identifiable information).  Such information, if provided, will be redacted.

The options nominated by the Boundary Study Committee for presentation at the Public Information Session are renamed for clarity as follows:

  Nominated Option:     Renamed for Public Information Session As:  
  Option 1 modified with Planning Block (PB) 108, 109, 110, and 111 moved to Oliver Beach ES      Option A
  Option 2A.1    Option B

Additionally, the committee voted to cancel the optional/as needed Committee Meeting #3 scheduled for October 8, 2025, as the committee completed all nominations at the conclusion of Meeting #2.

The committee voted to recommend Option B.

Additionally, Meeting #5 scheduled for December 3, 2025 is cancelled, as the committee completed all nominations and recommendation voting at the conclusion of Meeting #4.
