Purpose and Background:
Patapsco high school and center for the arts was constructed in 1963 on its 28.78 acre site located at 8100 Wise Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland. Three (3) additions were added in 1966, 1970 and 2019.
The addition proposed for Patapsco high school and center for the arts is slated to add needed capacity in the Southeast area of the county and improve the facility to support 21st century teaching and learning. The proposed design will increase the state rated capacity (SRC) of the school from 1,262 to 1,421.
Current Status:
- Update as of August 22, 2025
- The design is progressing into the construction document (CD) phase and will be reviewed by the State. This project cannot advance beyond design and permitting until construction funding is secured. Depending on the timeline for available funding, as well as the amount of available funding, additional design and permitting may be required. This timeline cannot be set at this time and is listed as to be determined (TBD).
