Northwest Area Elementary School Boundary Study #2

Approval/Implementation

  • On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the BCPS Board of Education approved the recommended boundary option (Option B-2).

The new boundary will be effective for SY 2026-2027 (August 2026).

Purpose:

The purpose of this boundary study is to:

  • Expand attendance area for Deer Park Elementary School replacement.
  • Expand attendance area for Scotts Branch Elementary School replacement.
  • Provide capacity relief to participating Northwest Area elementary schools.
  • Facilitate the move of students currently attending Campfield ELC to attend their home school or regional program.

Implementation:

Boundary implementation is anticipated for School Year 2026-2027.

The boundary study committee will be identified this summer and will convene in September 2024. Between September 2024 and December 2024, the group will meet seven (7) times, including hosting a public information meeting. In February and March of 2025, the Board of Education will receive the recommendation, hold a public hearing, and take action on the committee’s recommendation.

Parking for Milford Mill Academy meetings will be in the main lot off Washington Ave at Milford Mill Academy.  Please utilize the building entrance at the bus loop as indicated by the red arrow below.  Follow signs to turn left down the hallway to the cafeteria on the right.
