Nutritionals, Allergens, and Dyes

FNS maintains detailed information about nutrition, allergens, and food dyes for menu items served in schools.

This information is updated regularly and includes the Big 9 allergens: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.

FNS does not serve foods that contain peanuts or tree nuts.
Nine major food allergens

Special Dietary Needs Request

Parents or guardians requesting meal changes for a student because of a medical condition should complete a Special Dietary Needs Request Form each school year.

Include documentation from the student’s medical provider and send the completed form to the school’s health staff.

After the form is submitted, school health staff will work with FNS to review the student’s needs and plan appropriate meal changes.
