The Technology Toolkit for Administrators

The Technology Toolkit for Administrators was developed by the Maryland Online Technology Profiles for Teachers and Administrators Consortium to provide support to school-based administrators in the state of Maryland, as they work to effectively integrate technology in teaching and learning in their schools. Fourteen Maryland school districts in collaboration with the Maryland State Department of Education collaborated in the development of this tool. Funds to develop the Technology Toolkit for Administrators as well as the Maryland Technology Standards for School Administrators were provided by the Enhancing Education Through Technology, Title II-D partnership grant program.

The Technology Toolkit for Administrators consists of two parts:

  • A toolkit, in chart form, to interpret each of the indicators in the Maryland Technology Standards for School Administrators (MTTSA). Each chart defines four levels of technology proficiency with Level One describing the highest level of competency. School administrators can use these charts to determine their level of competency in meeting each of the technology standards.
  • Links to resources which can be used to learn more about the successful use of technology as defined by each of the technology standards.

The Technology Toolkit for Administrators is aligned with the Maryland Technology Standards for School Administrators (which were adapted from the ISTE NETS-A Standards)and the Maryland Teacher Professional Development Standards. They are informed by the Maryland Instructional Leadership Framework and the National Staff Development Council’s Moving NSDC’s Staff Development Standards into Practice: Innovation Configurations.
