Get up close and personal with an antique fire engine. Learn more about supporting student success on the BCPS Parentmobile. Test your dancing skills. Let the experts give you dental advice. Find a great book to read on the county library’s Bookmobile. Discover BCPS and community programs and services. Be entertained by talented BCPS students. This event is sponsored by The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools.

Back to School Involves You, Too! Calendar

now – Aug. 23 – Tools for Schools school supply drive

The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools invites Team BCPS members to participate in the Tools for Schools school supply drive. Everyone – from retirees to elected officials to business partners – has a stake in ensuring a successful start to the new school year for our students and teachers. This year, there are multiple ways organizations and individuals can help – from hosting a school supply drive, volunteering time, or making a monetary donation. All school supplies are welcome. Those most needed are: 3-ring binders, markers, pencils, notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, erasers. scissors, sticky notes, folders, notebook paper, dividers, pens, rulers, glue/glue sticks, pencil cases, book bags, and reward stickers. In addition to signing up online to help, interested businesses/organizations can sign up by contacting Cindy Whitcomb at cwhitcomb@bcps.org. School supply drop off locations include:

  • Baltimore County Public Schools, Greenwood Campus, Buildings A, B & E
  • Boscov’s White Marsh

Aug. 15 – Stuff a Bus event at Towson Farmer’s Market

The community is invited to drop off school supplies for the new school year on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Towson Farmer’s Market, Allegheny Avenue between Washington & Towson Traffic Circle, 21204.

Aug. 22 – Rally for Educators

The Education Foundation of BCPS is hosting a Rally for Educators featuring BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl Williams, County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Jr., and BCPS Teacher of the Year Kristen Nielsen. The celebration of Baltimore County’s teachers will take place in two locations on Thursday, Aug. 22. The event will be held from 10 - 10:30 a.m. at Towson Town Center, 825 Dulaney Valley Rd., 21204, on Level 1, outside of Nordstrom Rack AND from 11 – 11:30 a.m. at White Marsh Mall, 8200 Perry Hall Blvd, 21236, on Level 1, across from Macy’s Home Store, below Dave and Buster’s.

Aug. 30 – Early Entry Day for students entering Grades 6 and 9
BCPS hosts a half-day “Early Entry Day" for students entering Grades 6 and 9 for the 2019–2020 school year. Students will visit their lockers, tour the school, and meet teachers and school counselors. Transportation will be provided for those students who will take buses to middle and high school. A complimentary lunch will be served.

Sept. 3 – The first day of school for students!
