What is BCPSFest? A time to celebrate the start of a new school year.

Join us on Saturday, Aug. 25, outside Boscov’s White Marsh.

What: Join Baltimore County Public Schools at a free outdoor festival to celebrate the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Come to see our exciting Mobile Innovation Lab. Get up close and personal with an antique fire engine. Learn more about supporting student success on the BCPS Parentmobile. See how good you are with jump ropes. Let the experts give you dental advice. Find a great book to read on the county library’s Bookmobile. Discover BCPS and community programs and services. Win door prizes. Be entertained by the Eastern Tech cheerleaders. And enjoy special musical guests: DJ Clark, the Perry Hall High School marching band, and the Overlea High School choir. This event is sponsored by The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools.

On sale now – Tickets for BCPS Day at the Yard (Wednesday, Aug. 29) 
Tickets are on sale now for BCPS Day at the Yard, Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 7:05 p.m. The Orioles will play the Toronto Blue Jays. Five dollars from every ticket sold will benefit BCPS student leadership programs. Tickets ($17 - $33) must be purchased online. For any questions or accessible seating, please call 888.848.BIRD (2473) and ask for the Ticket Services team.

July 2 – Aug. 19 – Tools for Schools school supply drive

The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools invites Team BCPS members to participate in the Tools for Schools school supply drive. Everyone – from retirees to elected officials to business partners – has a stake in ensuring a successful start to the new school year for our students and teachers. This year, there are multiple ways organizations and individuals can help – from hosting a school supply drive, volunteering time, or making a monetary donation. All school supplies are welcome. Those most needed are: 3-ring binders, markers, pencils, notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, erasers. scissors, sticky notes, folders, notebook paper, dividers, pens, rulers, glue/glue sticks, pencil cases, book bags, and reward stickers. In addition to signing up online to help, interested businesses/organizations can sign up by contacting Cindy Whitcomb at School supply drop off locations include:

  • Baltimore County Public Library branches
  • Office Depot/Office Max locations in Baltimore County
  • First Financial Federal Credit Union branches
  • Slice in Towson and White Marsh
  • Boscov’s White Marsh
  • The Education Foundation headquarters

Aug. 16 – Stuff a Bus event at Towson Farmer’s Market

The community is invited to drop off school supplies for the new school year on Thursday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Towson Farmer’s Market, 17 Allegheny Ave., 21204.

Aug. 30 – Early Entry Day for students entering Grades 6 and 9
BCPS will host a half-day “Early Entry Day" for students entering Grades 6 and 9 for the 2018–2019 school year. Students will visit their lockers, tour the school, and meet teachers and school counselors. Transportation will be provided for those students who will take buses to middle and high school. A complimentary lunch will be served.
