School System Honors

BCPS was again awarded the Digital Content and Curriculum Achievement Award from the Center for Digital Education. (6/2017)

BCPS received seven awards from the National School Public Relations Association for publications and electronic media including merit awards for its blog, e-newsletter, and Team BCPS Day social media campaign. In addition, BCPS received honorable mentions for its calendar (2016-2017); excellence in writing (What’s in a Grade?); marketing publication (for the Early College Program @ Woodlawn High School); and special purpose publication (the Chinese Cultural Exchange brochure). BCPS was named National School Library Program of the Year by the American Association of School Librarians. (4/2017)

BCPS was awarded the national Trusted Learning Environment Seal by the CoSN (Consortium for School Networking), demonstrating a strong commitment to student data privacy and security. (4/2017)

BCPS was again named one of the nation's Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association for Music Merchants Foundation. Baltimore County Public Schools first received the Best Communities honor in 2004 and has every year since 2006. (4/2017)

BCPS was named a Digital Citizenship Certified District by Common Sense, demonstrating a whole-community approach to preparing students to use digital media safety. (7/2016)

BCPS was named a District of Distinction by "District Administration" magazine in honor of S.T.A.T. (Students and Teachers Accessing Tomorrow) and making graduation a priority. (7/2015; 10/2014)

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation has awarded a multi-year $1.5 million grant to Baltimore County Public Schools to help increase student achievement by providing all students with an effective, equitable digital learning environment. (3/2015)
