Celebrating Our 2018 Graduating Seniors

We will be posting a new graduating senior profile each day leading up to May 25, the last day for seniors.

Tamara Session

Chesapeake High School
(Mars Estates Elementary, Deep Creek Middle)

Tell us about a teacher, assignment, field trip, or extracurricular activity that had a significant impact on you during your years as a BCPS student?

Over my school years, I have been favored by all of my teachers as they respect me for my intelligence. My favorite teacher is Ms. Bradley because she always assists me when I get stuck, and I’m grateful for her extra attention and support.

During your years as a BCPS student, what did you accomplish that you are most proud of?

During my years as a student, I have accomplished getting A’s and B’s and being on honor roll throughout high school. I am most proud of the hard work and attention to detail I put into earning those grades.

What’s next for you? What are your college or employment plans after graduation?

After I graduate from high school, I’m going to college at CCBC to get a degree in architecture.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself working hard designing buildings and earning money in 10 years.

Favorite movie:

The Lion King

Tamara has strong personal values and always abides by them, regardless of whether or not it is in her best interest in the moment. She has integrity and drive. Tamara is always willing to help others and is very able to empathize with the struggles that other people face. Tamara genuinely wants to help people and the world.  Additionally: Tamara never gives up. We struggled once on an inferential performance-based assessment during her 11th grade year, and I asked her to completely redo the assignment three times. She did so and improved each time, eager to fulfill the requirements.”

Lauren Dellman, teacher

“Tamara came to the classroom well aware of her English strengths and her personal values. She tirelessly adapted and developed her skills to proudly share her worldview with those around her.”

Joseph Evans, English teacher

“I have had the pleasure and honor to teach math to Tamara in three out of her four years here at Chesapeake. Tamara tackles each and every day of class with passion and perseverance. Her attention to detail is what clearly sets her ‘head and shoulders’ above her classmates. Tamara is always eager to share her work and thoroughly enjoys helping others as well as presenting solutions to the class. She is the model of a Chesapeake HS Bayhawk – ready to learn, responsible and respectful. She greets her classmates and her teachers every day with a level of enthusiasm that will turn any frown into a smile. Tamara is my sunshine every day and she will be sorely missed when she graduates…….. yet, at the same time, I am going to be curious to find out how she makes her mark in the world…. because she will…. Oh, will she ever!!!”

Madeline Bradley, teacher

“Tamara is amazing in the weight room. She works the entire class period; I have never seen her sit down and take a break. (Even I sit down occasionally.)  When i teach technique to the class or critique her individual technique, she immediately puts to use my recommendations. In my 35 years of teaching, I can never remember a student who listens to instruction, and puts it to use as quickly as she does.”

Rodney McMillion, physical education teacher

“Her positive personality can bring a smile to anyone's face and her passion for learning is motivating to other students in her classes.”

Charles Phelan, teacher

“Tamara’s enthusiasm for creating is contagious. Her ability to create 3-dimensional forms to represent how she sees the world is fascinating, she is a true creative spirit. Tamara is a positive voice in class and often volunteers to assist others.”

Pamela Ehrenreich, visual arts teacher
