Graduating Senior: Tierra Smooth

Tierra Smooth
Franklin High School(Franklin Middle)

Tell us about a teacher, assignment, field trip, or extracurricular activity that had a significant impact on you during your years as a BCPS student?

During my years in BCPS, extracurricular activities have played a big part. Sports have motivated me in ways I can't even imagine. They give me a drive to work hard and achieve all the things I set my mind to. Everyone has their passion and mine is sports, So it connected to my education because education is very essential to playing a sport.

During your years as a BCPS student, what did you accomplish that you are most proud of?

The biggest accomplishment I had was in 10th grade – earning all A’s and making the principals list. It was very stressful while also playing sports, but I seemed to manage it all. I never gave up no matter how hard it got.

What’s next for you? What are your college or employment plans immediately after graduation?

I have not decided my college yet, but I plan on going to school for nursing.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

For the next 10 years, I see myself graduating from school with my degree and having a job in nursing. First thing I'm going to do is take care of my mom, because she's been with me through it all, and I owe her that.
