Final Activity: Pulling it all Together

Congratulations! You've successfully completed almost all of the Online Learning Essentials activities. Now it is time to pull all of these ideas together for the final activity.

You have identified several strategies that will help you know more about online courses. You have learned how learning preferences can impact successful participation and how your role as an online student may differ from your role in a traditional class. You have even made some decisions about how you will manage your time once your course has begun.

For this final activity, you will pull together all of the strategies and new concepts you have learned.

To Do List

Final Activity

Pulling it All Together

When you take an online course, your Online Teacher will be anxious to meet you. Compose a well-organized digital project about yourself. Be sure to include the following:

  • Reasons for taking an online course
  • How your learning behaviors may impact your participation and your achievement
  • New information about online courses
  • Strategies you plan to implement
  • Goals you have set for yourself
  • Your class schedule
  • Names of others in your school who may be in the same class
  • Whether or not you have Internet access outside of school
  • Name of your Mentor Teacher
  • Questions about the class

Develop your ideas in a logical sequence. Proof-read your project to ensure that your words clearly explain your ideas. Remember, this will be the "first impression" that you will make on your Online Teacher and first impressions can be lasting impressions!

For your presentation, you may select any of the following options:

  • Use Microsoft Word to create a friendly letter.
  • Use Microsoft PowerPoint to create a multimedia presentation.
  • Use Microsoft Publisher to create a newsletter.
  • Use Inspiration to create a web or outline.
  • Use Microsoft PhotoStory to create a digital slideshow.

Personalize your project with digital images, font and style changes, and/or graphics so that it is visually appealing and interesting to read.

When you have completed your project, save it . Then, print a copy of your project and place it in your Online Learning Essentials folder.
