Towson is a comprehensive high school which dates back to 1849. Located in the county seat of Baltimore County, Towson serves a suburban community. The school enrolls 1350 students in grades 9 through 12. Towson is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and by the Maryland State Department of Education.Towson High has a proud reputation of academic excellence. In 2010 Towson High received a Maryland Blue Ribbon and in 2011, the school was awarded a National Blue Ribbon for Excellence. An overwhelming majority of the graduating class will attend college. Towson’s instrumental and vocal music program consistently achieves county and state honors each year. The visual arts program is among the most recognized in the state of Maryland. Towson’s rich athletic tradition is regarded as one of the best in the state. Programs are available to meet the needs and interests of all students and to fulfill the academic requirements for graduation. As a complement to the existing comprehensive and highly academic program offerings, the Law and Public Policy Program provides law and research-related initiatives.
