Pleasant Plains Elementary was built in 1958. The Pleasant Plains Community extends from Oakleigh Road on the east, Aigburth Road on the west, Deanwood Road on the north, and Joppa Road on the south. The population is diverse with families residing in individual homes, townhomes, and apartments. The mission of the school is to provide a multicultural environment that nurtures academic development and promotes life-long learning, creativity, and social responsibility, in which all students will excel. Students work hard to follow the Panther Promise, which is to be respectful, responsible, safe, and prepared. The school has many opportunities for after school academic clubs and Talent Centers. Each year over 100 students participate in a school musical. The school welcomes parent involvement and partners with parents in support of student achievement. Volunteerism is encouraged. Pleasant Plains fosters the three A's, fine attendance, a positive attitude, and ongoing student achievement.
