Owings Mills High School opened in 1978 as a junior-senior high school. In 1982, it opened for only 9th and 12th grade students. One of the attributes of this school’s success is found in the commitment and dedication of staff, families and students to high student achievement in a diverse population. As an ESL center high school, Owings Mills has students from over 20 countries speaking over 25 languages. Students find that they establish a variety of critically important friendships that enhance their academic and social experiences.
Owings Mills High School offers the Baltimore County Public School curriculum. The curriculum prepares students for post-secondary education or immediate entry into the world of work. Gifted and Talented and Honors courses are offered in all academic areas in grades nine through twelve. Advanced Placement course offerings are found in all academic areas and most elective offerings. Over 80% of the graduating students attend 4 year colleges and universities.
