Meadowood Education Center is an alternative education program that offers students the opportunity to experience academic and behavioral success.Meadowood Alternative Education Center is located in the Woodlawn community, serving a maximum of 75 students in grades 6, 7 & 8 from the Southwest and Northwest regions of Baltimore County. Students are referred to Meadowood by the Superintendent's Designee following an expulsion, program review or long-term suspension as a temporary academic placement. Through a periodic review process, students are reinstated to their home schools prepared for success with newly acquired academic, social and decision-making skills.
The faculty is composed of 10 content area teachers; 1 special educator; 1 behavioral interventionist; 2 school counselors; 1 school psychologist; 1 social worker; 1 nurse; a part-time substance abuse counselor; 1 academic coordinator and administrator (principal).The coordinated approach employed by the faculty establishes a structured, predictable learning environment.
