CCFAS offers two outstanding programs for at-risk youth: an alternative high school and a GED program. Both programs provide a non-traditional environment for youngsters who have experienced various difficulties in a regular school setting.
The mission of the alternative high school is to help students develop or enhance their pro-social skills so that they can return to and succeed in a traditional high school. Students enrolled in the alternative high school receive rigorous academic instruction, pro-social skill and anger-management instruction, adventure education, and individual and group counseling.
The GED program serves high-school dropouts or those at risk of dropping out, ages 16-21. The mission of this program is to prepare young people residing in Baltimore County for the GED exam and the workplace.
