Sandalwood Elementary School, a Title I school, has been serving the residents of Baltimore County since 1971. The school, which is a modified open space design, contains classroom space, a library, two computer labs, and offices for support services, including counseling, reading, special education, health, and speech/language.
To meet the needs of the school community, the school also contains a community center and the services of both social workers and a school psychologist. There is also after school childcare available to accommodate the schedules of our parents/caregivers. Sandalwood provides a variety of Academic Support Programs for our students. Some of these include: Speech and Language service, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and After School Mathematics Tutoring Program. Many partnerships with the community provide enrichment opportunities. Some of these programs include Bay View Medical Partnership, Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Maryland Green Schools Program.
