Eastwood Elementary Magnet School is located in the Eastwood Community of southeastern Baltimore County. Students at Eastwood Elementary Magnet School live in the surrounding communities of Dundalk, Essex, Middleborough, Bowley’s Quarters, Middlesex, Chase, Edgemere, Middle River, Hawthorne, Sparrows Point, and Fort Howard.

Eastwood’s focus as an environmental science magnet is to provide a hands-on/minds-on approach to instruction that integrates science, math, and technology across the curriculum. Eastwood’s facility includes a computer lab, science lab, portable TV studio, and school-yard habitat garden to enhance student learning. Instructional practices, which support achievement for all students, include cooperative learning, differentiated instruction and assessment, team teaching, and flexible grouping. Students participate in special programs and activities such as science investigations utilizing our school-yard habitat garden, extracurricular science club, and the environmental fair.

The Eastwood Elementary Magnet School staff is dedicated to improving achievement for all students and providing an educational experience that is enriching, challenging, and rigorous.
