Student Behavior

The Office of Student Behavior is responsible for upholding the rules, policies, and procedures of the Board of Education as related to student conduct and behavior. Our mission is to ensure that a safe, secure learning environment is provided for all students, staff, and the public. This office is responsible for the supervision and professional development for the superintendent’s designees, including the appeals and mitigation process, all student suspensions, and the disciplinary removal of students from schools. Professional development is also provided to administrators related to the disciplinary process including: alternatives to suspension and expulsion, the protection of student rights through the proper application of laws, policies and procedures, and communication and collaboration with parents, advocates, and other stakeholders in the student’s educational life. The goal of this office is to promote student safety, academic success, the pursuit of knowledge, respect for others, good citizenship, and personal accountability for becoming productive members of a global society.
