In this instance, your title should be Speech and Language
Pathologist
- Can the speech pathologist be a case manager? According
to the Medicaid guidelines, the case manager is the person
who has the most amount of contact with the student as delineated
in the IEP. In most cases, the case manager is a special
education teacher or a speech pathologist.
- Can we bill for speech and language assessments? Yes,
all related service providers can bill for initial assessments.
- We have several students who are coded as 04, but receive
more special education services than speech services. Who
should be the case manager in these cases? In this instance,
the case manager should be the person with the most amount
of contact with the student. The handicapping code in these
cases may need to be changed.

Services money goes into the fund for providing equipment,
