Autism Waiver Program
AUTISM WAIVER ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
- Technical Eligibility
- Child is a Maryland resident between 1-21
- Child has an IEP or IFSP with:
- 15 hours of special education services
- Child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Child is not enrolled in another home and community based waiver
- Child is in a public, non-public or state operated special education setting or is receiving early intervention services
- Child can be safely maintained in the community with the support of waiver services
- Medical Eligibility
- Child must be certified for a level of care in an
intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded
and persons with related conditions (ICF-MR). This certification
is determined by a certified school psychologist.
- Financial Eligibility
- The child is considered as a family of one and must
meet specified
income and resources criteria.
