AUTISM WAIVER ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES

  1. Technical Eligibility
    1. Child is a Maryland resident between 1-21
    2. Child has an IEP or IFSP with:
      1. 15 hours of special education services
      2. Child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
      3. Child is not enrolled in another home and community based waiver
      4. Child is in a public, non-public or state operated special education setting or is receiving early intervention services
      5. Child can be safely maintained in the community with the support of waiver services

  2. Medical Eligibility
    1. Child must be certified for a level of care in an intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded and persons with related conditions (ICF-MR). This certification is determined by a certified school psychologist.

  3. Financial Eligibility
    1. The child is considered as a family of one and must meet specified
      income and resources criteria.
