Pupil Personnel Services

PPS imageThe goal of the Office of Pupil Personnel Services is to provide direct intervention and case management to students and families of students who are experiencing academic, behavioral, emotional, physical, and/or social difficulties. Pupil personnel workers, as liaison among the home, school, and community, collaborate with school administrators, teachers, agencies, human services providers, and other Student Support Services personnel to coordinate services to families in order that students may achieve the maximum benefits from their educational experience. Pupil personnel workers and residency officers work together to solve residency issues.

As a site-based service, School Social Work Services provides professional mental health services to children and families through individual, family, and group counseling. School social workers are committed to providing advocacy on behalf of students so as to provide impetus for change to both promote a positive school experience and healthy psychosocial development for students. Regular and intensive interventions are provided to parents and families with the ultimate goal of promoting school success for all students.

The Office of Pupil Personnel Services provides education and support for students and their families who are homeless. The Office of Pupil Personnel Services recognizes that families need before and after-school child care and supports these needs by establishing leases with licensed, non-profit, insured child care providers for children attending prekindergarten through grades eight.
