Behavioral Support

The mission of the Behavior Specialists are to provide staff and schools with the necessary tools to support student academic achievement and social/emotional awareness and growth to continue to improve in safe and orderly learning environments, thus enabling students with significant emotional needs to reach their maximum potential as responsible, productive citizens an life-long learners.

Goals:

1:1  To assist schools with preventing behavioral issues in order to educate students in the least restrictive setting.

1:2 To assist teachers with creating learning environments conducive to meeting the needs of students with challenging behavioral and emotional issues.

1:3 To support the county with ongoing professional development in order to reduce suspension rates and to improve the outcomes of students with behavioral issues  

 

Countywide Support:

  • Support to Behavior Learning Support Programs

  • TACT-2 Crisis Training

  • Provide Crisis Prevention Intervention Training

  • Functional Behavior Support

  • Behavior Intervention Plans

  • Support Complex Behavioral Issues

  • Consult with school based administration

  • Provide professional staff development on the following topics:

    • Surface behavior management strategies

    • Life Space Interview

    • Limit Setting

    • Positive Behavior Planning

    • Consultation with School-Based Behavior Interventionist

    • Autsim Support and Training to Schools
