The Office of Special
Education serves students, teachers, parents and administrators in the
areas of compliance and instruction.
IEP Support
Provides training for all IEP Team Chairmen and support to all new
IEP Team Chairmen.
Placement
Facilitates placement of students outside the home school. This
includes county cluster programs and non public placements.
Child Find
Identifies students, ages 3-20 who have a suspected disability and attend
private or parochial schools.
Parent Surrogates
Assigns surrogates to students with IEPs whose parents no longer have
educational rights.
Instructional
Support
Provides training and support to teachers in the implementation
of curriculum modifications for students with special needs.
Related Services
Provides coordination and support to schools in delivery of services
related to education including speech and language services, occupational
and physical therapy, assistive technology, transition services and
support to students who are deaf and hard of hearing or visually impaired.
