The Placement and Birth to Five Division provides support and technical assistance to schools in their ability to ensure students are educated in their least restrictive environment as outlined in the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA). This includes the provision that students are educated with their non-disabled peers to the maximum extent appropriate and that a continuum of placement options is available to all students. Birth to Five is comprised of interagency and school system programs that primarily support children birth to five in the oversight and implementation of the Early Childhood Accountability System and facilitation of professional development activities for teachers and service providers.
