Animal Classification of Vertebrates

Essential Question:
How can the special characteristics of animals be used to classify them into groups?

This program includes a 45-minute opening, after which students will rotate through 5 outdoor stations. Stations include predator/prey games, a homes and hiding places hike, use of binoculars at animal blinds, an investigation of mammals and birds of Maryland, and an investigation of fish, reptiles and amphibians of Maryland.

The program requires a minimum of 5 parents to attend a 3 hour training session prior to the field study. There is a $4.00/student facility use fee for Camp Puh’tok.
