Environmental Science

  • The Environmental Science class is offered in 17 High Schools through out the county.
  • The Environmental Science curriculum has six basic units: Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife, Soil, Aquatics and Air and Energy.
  • The concepts in the curriculum were designed to reflect the MSDE Core Learning Goal 6.0 - Environmental Science as well as the objectives for the National Envirothon Competition.
  • Students that take this class are given a basic exposure to the concepts tested in the Envirothon competition. Baltimore County holds it Envirothon every year in April. The winners of this competition move on to the Maryland State competition and the winners from the State move on to the National competition.
