Professional Study Day Information for August 22, 2007:
Elementary: K-5 Elementary teachers, special
educators, ELL teachers, and paraeducators of diploma-bound students
will remain in their schools for professional development facilitated
by their school administrators. This half-day workshop will focus
on the next phase of the elementary mathematics textbook implementation. Administrators
will provide teachers in grades 1-5 with guidance on how to effectively
plan for and implement the joint usage of the core elementary mathematics
textbook program, Scott Foresman-Addison Wesley, and Investigations 2008
for the school year 2007-2008. Kindergarten teachers will plan
collaboratively using the revised 2007-2008 Kindergarten Curriculum
Guide and the 2nd edition of Investigations.
Secondary: Middle and High School Mathematics
Teachers, both general and special education, will participate in professional
development (see Capturing the Passion for a listing
of the sessions) at Loch Raven High School from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Any middle school teacher, who will be teaching one of the Algebraic
Thinking courses and missed the summer training, will participate in
Algebraic Thinking Booster Sessions from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
