Office of Mathematics PreK-12
Baltimore County Schools’ Blueprint 2.0: Our Way Forward outlines a vision for creating a culture of deliberate excellence for every student, every school, and every community. The Office of Mathematics PreK-12 contributes to the system’s expectation through its commitment to engage all students in mathematics. The PreK-12 Mathematics curriculum focuses on problem solving, communication, and critical thinking in order to provide a foundation where every student reaches their potential to become a globally competitive, mathematically literate citizen.

The Office of Mathematics PreK-12:

  • Develops mathematics curriculum in order to ensure program implementation integrity and rigorous mathematics instruction for all students.
  • Provides continuous and meaningful professional learning opportunities for mathematics teachers in order to build school instructional capacity.
  • Supports teachers as they teach for deep conceptual understanding, procedural skill and fluency, and application of mathematics content.
  • Shares an appreciation of mathematics with students, parents, and the community.
