Office of Position Management
The Office of Position Management, in Personnel Services, is part of the Department of Human Resources, and ensures the equitable and accurate distribution of allocated positions in the schools and offices. The office also assists the hiring process by assuring the accurate assignment of staff within the guidelines of the current budget.
The Office of Position Management:
- Meets annually with all principals for the purpose of distributing updated staffing allocations, providing organization planning, and providing training on all processes.
- Provides updated procedures, forms, and documents for BCPS management via the Intranet.
- Provides a mechanism for departments to track staffing and organizational changes.
- Monitors the alignment of position allocation in accordance with the budget.

- Office heads seeking assistance requesting additional positions not in the current budget.
- Office heads seeking assistance on initiating proposed office reorganization.
- Office personnel seeking documentation on the appropriate funding of positions.
- Employees requesting changes to their “pay locations”.
- Principals needing assistance creating their Organization Worksheet.
- Principals seeking additional positions not in original allocations.
