Endorsements
Throughout one’s teaching career many individuals seek additional areas of certification on their professional certificate. Recent changes within COMAR allow different methods of securing an endorsement on one’s certificate, depending on the area of certification. The Office of Certification will evaluate the credentials of all professionally certified staff seeking an endorsement on their certificate.

The individual must possess a Maryland professional certificate. No endorsement evaluation will be done for those holding a conditional certificate. The individual must submit the request either in writing or via email. No requests for endorsement evaluations can be accepted via the telephone. A written evaluation will be completed and sent to one’s school if requested during the school year, or sent to one’s home address if requested during the summer. Such endorsement evaluations may take from 6-8 weeks to complete and mail. Keep this in mind if you plan to register for courses.
