Calendars and Schedules

BCPS employees are paid biweekly and there are two payroll calendars.  One payroll calendar is for teachers, and other employees represented by TABCO, and employees represented by CASE (i.e., exempt administrative, executive and professional employees) who are paid “to date,” and substitute teachers.  Although substitute teachers are paid two weeks in arrears, they are paid on the same day as teachers.  The second payroll calendar is for non-exempt hourly employees represented by BACE (e.g., office professionals, clerical and classified employees and paraeducators), and employees represented by AFSCME (e.g., facilities, food service, and hourly transportation employees), and paid helpers and personal assistants.   These employees are paid two weeks in arrears.  Please note:  beginning in September 2009, BACE represented employees will be moved to the hourly payroll and will be paid two weeks in arrears.

Summer Payroll Calendar
There is a separate payroll calendar for use following the close of school and prior to the start of the new school year for 10-month employees.

Schedule of Voluntary Deductions (e.g., medical, association dues, credit union)
In general, voluntary or constant deductions, such as health care deductions, are taken over 20 pay periods.  Other deductions, such as county retirement and wage attachments, are taken every pay period.
