Teacher Reading List Through increased understanding of their discipline,
teachers will be better prepared to plan and implement challenging
instruction. While there is an attempt to provide a balance of
viewpoints, this list is a minimal collection of nonfiction from
the field. These works communicate only the author’s interpretations
and perspectives, some of which may not be shared by all scholars.
Similarly, there may be significant differences in content/viewpoints
between some of these books and our program of study. Therefore,
it is assumed that teachers will use these books as background
readings and exercise professional judgment when deciding their
appropriate role in planning instruction.
