Middle School Programs

World Language

Students who participate in middle school world language programs have the opportunity to earn up to three high school credits for their chosen language. As students increase in fluency throughout their three years, they will also have opportunities to learn about the cultural aspects of the language of study, including food, music, art, and economics. Program offerings include basic Japanese, French, and Spanish. An Advanced French program is offered for students who successfully complete the partial French Immersion program at Wellwood International School or have similar competency in French.

Students who wish to continue their language studies in high school have the opportunity to participate in the International Baccalaureate program at Milford Mill Academy and Kenwood High School, as well as opportunities at their zoned high schools.

Students participating in other middle school magnet programs may also have the opportunity to participate in a World Language as an elective program, though choices may be limited.
