Business Administration/Information Systems
Management (ISM)
Business Administration and Technology: Business Administration and Technology is designed to develop vital administrative, management, and technical skills in a state-of-the-art electronic office using Microsoft Office and voice recognition software applications. Students learn to develop a managerial perspective, create rapport and gain influence, and deal with workplace challenges. BA&T students gain intensive training in advanced computer skills including web page design, word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation applications, as well as effective Internet use. Additional topics include projecting a professional image, developing teamwork skills, gaining time and project management techniques, demonstrating written and oral communication skills, solving problems, and making decisions. Recommended electives include Principles of Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and Business Law.
Information Systems Management (ISM): This program is designed to help students develop managerial and technical skills in a state-of-the-art technological office. The program models a company, with the teacher assuming the role of the employer. This course will provide MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) certification, which sets a global standard for desktop productivity in corporations, academic institutions, staff agencies, training organizations, and individuals by using Microsoft Office applications.
