High School Programs

Academy of Finance

Established nationally in 1982, the Academy of Finance (AOF) introduces students to the broad career opportunities in the financial services industry and, in the process, equips them to make sound choices for the future. A member program of the National Academy Foundation, the Academy of Finance operates as a “school within a school” and is located in high schools nationwide.

AOF is a college preparatory program, with required coursework in computers, business, economics, finance, accounting, banking, and international finance. In addition to their required courses, Academy of Finance students take one or two specialized courses each semester and a college level course in their senior year. Students also participate in job shadowing experiences and paid internships.

Students may also participate in the Future Business Leaders of America or DECA, an association of marketing students. Graduates receive a Certificate of Financial Studies by the National Academy Foundation at a special ceremony.
