High School Programs

Academy of Science, Engineering, & Mathematics

This academy allows students to develop their interests and talents in Pre-Engineering, Environmental Science, Biomedical Science/Allied Health, and Mathematics.

PTLW  Pre-Engineering /Aerospace Science – Students develop thinking skills as they design and build solutions to authentic engineering problems.  Students analyze, evaluate, and produce models of project solutions and digital circuitry using industry-standard computer software.  Students apply scientific and engineering concepts to design materials and processes that directly measure, repair, improve, and extend systems in different environments.

Environmental Science – Students investigate the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, identify both natural and human –made environmental problems, analyze the relative risks associated with these problems, and examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them.

Biomedical Science/Allied Health – Students investigate the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies that underlie human biology and its relationship to health, medical science, and biotechnology.  Students apply fundamental knowledge of biotechnology to understand biochemical processes.

Mathematics – Students develop a pure understanding of the connections between Algebra and Calculus as they learn mathematics through the use of technology and explore careers in the field of mathematics.
