Office of Instructional Technology

The Department of Technology's Web Team is working collaboratively with the Department of Professional Development and the Office of Instructional Technology to provide teachers with an opportunity to communicate electronically with students, parents, and others in the BCPS community via the World Wide Web.

The BCPS Web Team is encouraging all teachers to utilize Novusolutions Education Site Manager ™ (NovusEDU™) to create websites that will be accessible in several ways:

BCPS Telecommunication Policy:
Educators are encouraged to post as much information as possible about classes, schedules, assignments, student accomplishments, and other information of interest to parents and the community, however, it is critical that all BCPS policies and guidelines be carefully followed to ensure student and teacher privacy. The entire telecommunication policy can be accessed at www.bcps.org/system/policies_rules/rules/6000Series/RULE6166.pdf and guidelines and forms specific to website creation are described below.

Telecommunication Policy Forms:

  • Telecommunications Acceptable Use Policy for Students - Form 6166A
  • Permission to Publish Intellectual Property on the Internet, BCPS Intranet, or the BCPS Education Channel 73 - Form 6166B
  • Permission to Publish Student Group Photograph or Video on the Internet or BCPS Intranet - Form 6166D
  • Copyright Permission Request - Form 6166E
